Google Custom Search: press 'ENTER' to resume
|
Due to Google [effecting the net], all external content is referred to its HTML context.
Such as: a specific external content [… and its embeding context.]
Exceptions: 'none permanent' URL, endless code (some blogs), unknown origin (mainly with PDF and some images), multiple reference to same [image] source, embeded video, and severe NONSENSE.
Google Images [currently] does not distinguish embedded objects from linked content. It correlates any referring HTML context that 'defines' images 'in a way' matching an inquiry. So far I’ve not been able to avoid such faulty attributions. [Google is apparently improving on that matter.]
In order to convince Google:
a) properly 'designate' images and
b) provide an appropriate 'unique' HTML context [that I can then referrer to] …
Referred sites may relocate or even shut down. In order to retrace external content, additional information (title, author …) is being added to vital links [using the 'title' tag]. This information will be ignored by search engines, but shows 'on mouse over'.
Links to specific preview pages [http://books.google.com/] turned out "non permanent" over time. Therefore such previews are [and will be] fully cited.

When using [my] content, make certain you know what you are actually referring to! DON'T quote me quoting someone else’s quotes … [for that is what I do ;-]
Citation format: Free Style […]
A "source" is noted using Roman numerals. Its position within a text is marked by Arabic numerals (e.g.: I.) 7, II.) 8, III) 9, II.) Img. _01, I.) 10 ), allowing for "endnote-blocks" and easy cross-referencing.
- Source I.)

in random order, mapping my work's progression.]
Note 7 [found at source I.) ]
Note 10 [A cross reference is simply: III) 9 ]
- Source II.)

[JPG, GIF, PNG also provide 'on mouse over' information.]
Img. _01, Img. _22 [detailed information for illustrations, reproduced from source II.) In some texts still referred to in German as "Abb."]
- Source III.)
Note 9 [This habit of referencing is not fully implemented yet.

Since 2008 I've adopted and adapted the "books.google.com convention" ['title', author, publisher, year of publication or date of retrieval… URI] which also works well for websites and other multimedia sources.

- The URI displayed in your browser [starting with www.mediaarchitecture.at/ for English content] is 'permanent' [will be '301 redirected']. Content may change though …
- Use the right anchor when linking to a certain paragraph, image or reference note within 'a page'.
For example:
…xy_en.shtml [a page]
…xy_en.shtml#ill_02 [a certain illustration on that page]
…xy_en.shtml#ill_02_notes [notes for that illustration]

The views expressed by linked content most certainly may not represent my own.
English and German versions are not necessarily identical, though I'm trying …
Please bear [with me] that all 'discourse' merges in language. In doubt, the German text probably contains less nonsense than its English translation.

"Last changes:" dates mark alterations of content and appearance, not of source code.
By now all filenames start with their template version. [2010 marks XHTML template no. 4, not a specific date.]
Previous versions can only be made available in PDF format. Simply browse the ARCHIVE for each single page [linked from the top, providing you face template no. 3].
